Development history

Electronic tags directly inherit the concept of radar, and thus develop into a vibrant new technology-RFID technology. In the middle of the 20th century, the theory and application research of radio technology was one of the most important achievements in the development of science and technology. In 1948, Harry Stockman published a theoretical article "Communications Using Reflected Power", which laid the theoretical foundation for radio frequency identification RFID. It can be seen that the development of RFID technology has gone through a full 60-year history, and the 10-year boundary can be divided as follows.

From 1941 to 1950. The improvement and application of radar gave birth to RFID technology, and the theoretical foundation of RFID technology was laid in 1948.

From 1951 to 1960. The early exploration stage of RFID technology was mainly in laboratory experimental research.

From 1961 to 1970. The theory of RFID technology has been developed, and some application attempts have begun.

From 1971 to 1980. RFID technology and product research and development are in a period of great development. Testing of various technologies has accelerated, and some of the earliest RFID applications have appeared.

From 1981 to 1990. RFID technology and products have entered the commercial application stage, and applications of various scales have begun to appear.

From 1991 to 2000. The standardization of RFID technology has received more and more attention, and RFID products have been widely adopted and gradually become a part of people's lives.

·2001 to 2018. The types of RFID products have become more abundant, the cost of electronic tags has been continuously reduced, and the scale of application industries has expanded.

Application

Over the past decades, the theory of RFID technology has been enriched and perfected. Active, passive and semi-passive electronic tags have all been developed rapidly.Single-chip electronic tags, multi-electronic tag reading, wireless readable and writable, passive electronics Long-distance identification of tags and RFID that adapt to high-speed moving objects are becoming a reality. The application fields of electronic tags include the following aspects.

Logistics industry: cargo tracking in the logistics process, automatic information collection, warehousing applications, port applications, postal express delivery.

Retail industry: real-time statistics of commodity sales data, replenishment, anti-theft. ·Manufacturing industry: real-time monitoring of production data, quality tracking, and automated production.

Medical industry: medical device management, drug management and HIS system.Identification: e-passport, ID card, student ID and other electronic documents.

Anti-counterfeiting: Anti-counterfeiting of valuables (tobacco, alcohol, medicine) and tickets.

Asset management: the management of all kinds of valuable, large quantity and high similarity, or dangerous goods and other assets.

Transportation: Expressway toll management, vehicle identification and management of taxis and buses.

Food: Management of the freshness of fruits, vegetables, fresh foods, etc.

Animal identification: identification and management of domesticated animals, livestock and pets.

Libraries: Book management applications for bookstores, libraries and publishing houses.

Automobile: manufacturing, anti-theft, positioning, car keys.

Aviation: manufacturing, passenger ticket, luggage and parcel tracking.

Military: the identification and tracking of ammunition, guns, materials, personnel and vehicles.
